The community of St. Mary’s probably never imagined that their small group of children would lay the foundation for what has become such a talented, lively and entertaining Slovak dance group.

Presently, the Vychodna Slovak Dancers are thriving. Their group totals over forty young and enthusiastic dancers ranging from the ages of five to forty who have a real passion for performing Slovak folklore. Their total repertoire stands at over forty dances and songs. With a solid base in the Greater Toronto Area, founded and sustained by the Toronto-Slovak community, Vychodna has since come to share their love of Slovak folklore with audiences across Canada, the United States of America, and across Slovakia itself. With twenty-five years of experience behind them and a thriving and energetic group of dancers with them now, Vychodna plans to play a dominant role in perpetuating Slovak culture in the years to come.

Vychodna sincerely appreciates the generous donations it has received from various organizations. Over the years Vychodna has received funding and support from the St. Mary’s Church, Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Canadian Slovak League, Slovak Catholic Sokol, Jednota, Úrad pre Slovákov žijúcich v zahrani?í, the Rosary Society, Ontario Folk Arts Council, Mississauga Arts Council and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. They are grateful and honoured that these organizations have believed in them and truly are grateful for their contributions.

The Vychodna Slovak Dancers would never have gotten where they are today without the tireless dedication of all their valued dancers and choreographers, the family and friends who supported them in all aspects of the group. Most important of all however, are the countless audiences over the years who were kind enough to share in and enjoy the experience of Slovak culture that Vychodna has to offer.
